Fresh Coconuts

Coconut is classified as a "functional food" because it provides many health benefits beyond its nutritional content. The coconut palm is so highly valued by them a source of food and medicine that it is called "The Tree of Life." Only recently has modern medical science unlocked the secrets to coconut's amazing healing powers. The coconut provides a nutritious source of meat, juice, milk, and oil that has fed and nourished populations around the world for generations

AT Indo commodities we export of fresh coconuts to Middle Eastern, South African, European and Mediterranean Destinations. Our Fresh Coconuts for exports are available in two different forms, called BALD NUTS and TUFTED NUTS. All our export cargo go through stringent quality controls which ensures the maturity, nut size, weight and water level prior to final loading. The coconuts are carefully packed as per international Standards and loaded into containers under strict supervision. Therefore, we always assure our customers a good quality product.

BALD NUTS – Mainly consumed by the customers in the West. The coconuts are selected according to size which is 13.5 inches and upwards in circumference and then removing the fiber which is covering the outer shell. The nut would averagely weigh minimum 750-800 grams per nut. The selected export quality coconuts are packed in lino (netted) bags or in cartons as per customers requirements. Bald nuts are shipped in Refrigerated (Reefer) containers with the temperature of +10 Degree Celsius in order to prevent the nuts from cracking.

TUFTED NUTS - These are coconuts with little fibre covering the three coconut eyes, called “curry coconut” in Sri Lanka, because they’re used in every single kitchen on a daily basis to make curries, special dishes, desserts, etc. These nuts are also exported to Middle East, UK and Mediterranean destinations to cater the needs of ethnic population who are living there for generations. Sri Lankan Tufted Coconuts are very famous among this ethnic population for its’ fine taste and higher out-turn of milk content. Well selected and matured nuts are packed in netted and pp bags and shipped in dry 20’ and 40’ containers throughout the year.
